FOOTSCAN Dynamic Pressure Plate Analysis

‘Considered the leader in Foot Scanning Technology, The Footscan® is now offered at Sussex Total Foot Care.’

90% of us will experience foot pain in our lifetime, so The Footscan® really is beneficial to everyone, whether you are living with foot pain or want to learn more about foot and leg mechanics. The pressure mapping technology uses over 4000 sensors to capture live data as you walk, showing heel to toe data. This allows us as experts to easily see how your feet are functioning, any discrepancies between feet, and where any excessive stress and pressure lays.

Until now we have not been able to assess the foots movement with such precision. The reinforced pressure plate generates a visual representation of how your foot meets with the ground allowing us to create a tailored treatment plan to manage pain, prevent further injury and advise on appropriate footwear or orthotic devices.

If you are interested in Foot Scan or orthotics, we would advise booking in for a biomechanical assessment. This will help us determine which products you are most suited to and how we could help you best.

Biomechanical assessment

If you suffer with general lower limb discomfort, sharp pains or reoccurring foot/ankle problems when exercising, there could be a simple cause which may be easy to solve with help from our clinical team.

At Sussex Total Foot Care, we carry out detailed biomechanical assessments which check the lower limbs for any issues which may be causing pain, particularly if linked to a sports injury. We also check for any abnormalities and causes of pain, arch height, heel health and joint strength. We would advise that you can wear shorts or comfortable trousers so that we can assess your knees/lower limbs as you move.

This assessment is divided into 4 sections:

1. Medical history and history of the pain/injury
2. Non-Weightbearing assessment
3. Weightbearing assessment
4. Gait Analysis

When our assessments are completed, a tailor-made treatment plan to you is devised. This may consist or rehabilitation of the injury/pain, exercise regimens, footwear recommendations and to consider a prescription of appliances such as orthotics or insoles. Referrals to other healthcare practitioners may be required if further specialist advice is needed.

£125 for first consultation up to 60 minutes assessment, £60 follow up/reviews up to 30 minutes.
